Week 1
In today’s lesson we was listing the themes for the Crucible, we came up with Lies Murder and Judgement as this helped with breaking down the theme of the performance to help me with a further understanding of how it works and how I could apply this to the characters daily motivation.
Week 2
In the second week, we discussed about the expectations and requirements of an actor such as auditions as well understanding and preparing monologues with research and a clear acknowledgement of the plot of the performance they’re performing under a deadline as well.
The actors are required to attend rehearsals, dress rehearsals as well to be arriving on time always as in being 10 – 15 minutes early as well showing a professional representation of themselves.
I found this to be useful as it explains the essential requirements and needs of an actor that they have to serve.
Week 3
In today’s lesson we went over of discussing and writing acceptable that forms a decent actor such as an actor who is able to have fun yet there able to maintain a respectful and sensible behaviour whilst always being determined with a positive attitude, they must be committed to knowing the lines as well being on time for delivering on deadlines with a high level of acceptance with being able to deal with different casts/immersive roles.
We learned about what makes a well-structured performance such as something that has been planned as well directed correctly as it’s also enjoyable and engaging for the actors and possibly the audience as well, a strong sense of good casting with people who have a high level of concentration and confidence.
Week 4
In today’s lesson we did some warm ups to start us up which then we moved straight onto continuing about the risk assessment as he went over with an example on what was a well-known risk assessment and how they should be managed as well that we should be aware of what’s on them before getting engaged with the theatre/performance.
Week 5
In the fifth week we discussed about what a good and bad agent is and how they should operate as well the different type of agents such as the Coop Agent and then the Individual agency which one of them is where an actor can become the agent for another actor as the other actor could repeat with them being able to assist each other as the individual agent prefers that sometimes that they find the jobs and roles for you as you are not capable of doing this when with them.
Week 6
In the sixth week we went over the job roles with example sheets on each role as we sat together in a circle with the tutor explaining which one is and what they do and how, who is in charge talking with who depending on the situation or scenario such as the choreographer with the actors/dancers depending on what’s needing to be choreographed, this was quite helpful to me as it helps break down roles in depth as well to use it in searching towards the actor I am mainly interested in as well position in the industry.
